Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding group activities are clear, but the counter-argument regarding isolation is less effectively supported, relying on a somewhat weak example about 'germs' in 'Elite society'. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis is restricted, and the conclusion is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more logical, real-world examples and ensure your position is consistently maintained throughout the body paragraphs rather than just the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The major reason', 'On the counter part', and 'By way of conclusion'. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or unnatural, such as 'On the counter part'. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and flow; for instance, the phrase 'followed my by opinion in further' in the introduction is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help your writing sound more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. You use some relevant terms like 'communal activities' and 'self development', but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'debatable question' (should be 'a debatable issue'), 'figure out on their own' (should be 'occupy themselves'), and 'fell protected' (should be 'feel protective'). The range is sufficient to communicate your meaning, but the errors in word choice are noticeable and occasionally detract from the professional tone of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include 'children are generally take part' (should be 'generally take part'), 'To cite a example' (should be 'To cite an example'), and 'in urban city' (should be 'in urban cities'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors like articles and verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
