Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 184 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. While you have attempted to address both sides of the argument, the lack of a clear conclusion and the underdeveloped nature of the second paragraph mean that the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, balanced discussion and a clear personal opinion, while also ensuring the essay is of sufficient length to allow for full development of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization through the use of paragraphing and transition words like 'First' and 'Second'. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'Here in this essay, I will articulate both the views'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending disrupts the overall flow of the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and a logical conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'a lots of activities', 'own-minded', and 'prepare their kids with little age'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To achieve a higher score, you should work on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid repetitive structures and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms for common words to demonstrate a broader range of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Some people thinks', 'others are believe'), incorrect verb forms ('should promotes', 'could be benefit'), and missing articles. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. The sentence structure is often simplistic or grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency will also help improve your accuracy.
