Student answer (Band 6.5)
Several people are encouraging their children to participate in public events. Meanwhile, others think that their kids should be more focussed and sharpen their skills of their own in their free time. In this essay, I will discuss both the points and give my opinion to it.
Firstly, to make the kid courageous and skillful, he/she need to go out in the public and know their worth. When they go out in the group, they will learn about their own strengths and weaknesses. Eventually, they shall know themselves better. Because, they will not be able to get the support from their parents there as they will be competing against the other children; and for the development of the human brain this is necessity.
Secondly, Some believe that children working on themselves are more important. When they left alone in the free time, they tend to know more about self-discipline, priority based work, scheduling and many different soft skills. Which in the future will help to be organized and disciplined. For instance, if any kid start developing habit of reading by himself/herself, then one can become good communicator or philosopher in the future as his/her grip on the language or can achieve deep perspective on the topics that can be exceptional in it's own.
To conclude, both the view-points are equally important and their own positive points but in my opinion, kids should go out in public setting more often in their free time as they can able to develop curiosity to learn the topics which they can not see within the four walls.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for group activities relies on general statements about 'knowing their worth' without specific examples. Similarly, the argument for solitary activities mentions 'soft skills' but lacks a concrete illustration of how these are acquired. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or specific real-world examples. The position is consistent, but the depth of analysis is currently at a Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to signal the progression of your argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'Because, they will not be able to get the support...'. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, for example, the phrase 'Which in the future will help' is a sentence fragment that lacks a clear subject. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each sentence connects logically to the previous one will improve your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'courageous', 'skillful', 'self-discipline', and 'philosopher'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'competing against the other children' (should be 'competing against other children') and 'in it's own' (should be 'in its own'). There is also some repetition of basic words like 'kids' and 'children'. To improve, try to use more precise synonyms and ensure that your word forms are correct. The current range is sufficient to convey meaning but lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('he/she need to go out') and incorrect verb forms ('if any kid start developing'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in the use of commas and apostrophes. The errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
