Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary world, sports play a vital role in kids life. Although some people believe that group activities is best way to spending extra time for child and encourage by parents. On the other hand, it is a crucial for kids to understand and inculcate the habit of how to take up themselves busy by their own rather than by guardians. Hence, I will discuss both views with relevant justifications along with my opinion in the forthcoming paragraphs.

To commence with first view, by getting guidance from the parents to be active in organised social activities, it provide them to develop social skills such as critical team work, communication, discipline and conflict resolve skills by collaboration with peers on daily basis. Thus, group activities enable not only structural development to kids but also healthy competition towards group members.

However, if all the decisions regarding to occupy themselves are taken by kids helps them to inculcate the habit of independence and self-reliance. To elaborate, when folks are taking their every day decisions to make themselves busy is preventing themselves from over-reliance on their parents for smaller things which will make them stronger in terms of quick decisions skill. In addition, imagination and creativity is increasing with the help of their own decisions as kids must invent their own games, stories and creative projects. Therefore, it helps them to inculcate decision making skills by either good or worst experience.

In my prospective, active participation in organised social events prevents kids from bad habits and choosing wrong way in child's life since his or her parents is always available for their kids to teach them right or wrong and eventually, parents are always involve in keeping eye on their kids group activity.

In conclusion, advices on group activities which are given by the parents helps kids to inculcate new habits which build social relation as well as promote right way to follow because child's parents always aware from what's going on in social group. Nevertheless, taking decision by their own will encourage habits like independence and foster creativity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is somewhat uneven. The first two body paragraphs provide relevant arguments for both sides, such as social skills for group activities and independence for solitary play. However, the third body paragraph, which is intended to state your opinion, is slightly confusing. It focuses on the benefits of organised activities rather than clearly synthesising your stance on the balance between the two. While the task is addressed, the ideas could be more clearly linked to your overall position to ensure a more cohesive argument throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'In my prospective' (likely meaning 'perspective') and the transition into the final paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between parental supervision and the 'wrong way' is not fully articulated. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'inculcate the habit of how to take up themselves busy' is unnatural, and 'structural development to kids' is imprecise. You attempt to use some academic vocabulary like 'inculcate', 'collaboration', and 'self-reliance', which shows a good effort, but the misuse of these terms suggests a need for more practice with collocations. Improving your control over word forms and common phrases would significantly enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('group activities is', 'parents is always available'), incorrect preposition usage ('decisions regarding to'), and awkward phrasing ('by getting guidance from the parents to be active... it provide them'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, as well as refining your use of articles and prepositions.
