Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some believe that parents should motivate their minors to involved in collaborative activities in their leisure time, while another group of thinkers supports it is crucial for young people to learn to how to engage themselves alone. However, both has its own pros and cons. Therefore before commenting on my decision both the opinion would be discussed.
Examining the former opinion, the primary argument the supporters would put forward is that structured group activities help to improve team work spirit. By this I mean that work in groups can improve social skills of youngster and motivate them to speak politely and patiently with others. Furthermore, the young generation learn new things and strategy from other children through team base activities. Additionally It improves co-operation and co-ordination skills of youth. For instance team work is require more dedication and internal bonding to perform activities precisely.
On the contrary, the latter view suggest that children having their own company, increases concentration as distractions caused by others are reduced. Moreover, adolescents can think critically, because the no one can help while doing activities individualy. For instance, when I was child, I involved in one science project activity alone, as a result I had to think
more logically without any assistance from other students. Infact, individual activities can build self confidence as completing tasks independently gives them sense of achievement.
To conclude and give my opinion. I would say that team base activities help to develop positive behaviour, good manners and respect for others. It also encourage children to deal with any situation politely. In a big picture this would be beneficial for both children and parents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the arguments regarding 'social skills' and 'co-operation' are mentioned multiple times without significant expansion. While the prompt is addressed, the ideas are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced explanations and more specific, detailed examples to support your points, rather than relying on general statements about 'good manners' or 'positive behaviour'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'On the contrary' to link your points. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by grammatical errors, such as 'Therefore before commenting on my decision both the opinion would be discussed'. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, and the concluding paragraph is somewhat abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'collaborative', 'structured', and 'logically'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'motivate their minors' (instead of 'children') and 'team base activities' (instead of 'team-based'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary that would elevate the response. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more natural, academic phrasing to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'both has its own pros and cons' (subject-verb agreement), 'the no one can help' (article usage), and 'when I was child' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction to ensure greater accuracy.
