Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern world , people belive that parents should develope habit to encourage children to participate in group activities , whereas some also believe that it should be naturally adopt by children in free time . In my opinion evey youth has different habits to use its free time and it should be the decision of children not the elders persons .

First and formost , parenst should encourage childrens because every student is busy to grap the knowledge from computers , whereas group participation encourage children communication skills , therefore, it encourge them to speak perfectly in public . Secondly , public activities also develope the knowledge and confidence of person , which assist them to get away from fear of facing deficuilties in life .

Also some of them think that it should left on youth to learn public activties by themselves . people believe that with the time every child learn to participate in group and reduce their hegitation . Every child has its own ability to become a part of group . With forcefull method , it is possible that maximum person will join the group activities but it will not be done with full focus and will be a burden on children shoulders . therfore it will be a time waste activity . That is why it is essential for parents to keep in mind that if a child has efficiency to learn and occupie themselves in group activities , parents should provide a chance to their generation .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding children learning to occupy themselves is a bit repetitive and lacks specific, well-explained examples. The position is clear, but the reasoning could be more robust to reach a higher band. The essay stays on topic, but the depth of analysis is limited, which is characteristic of a mid-range response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'Therefore'. However, some of these are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Also some of them think that it should left on youth'. The flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, and the referencing (e.g., 'some of them') is not always clear. The progression of ideas is present but could be smoother with more varied linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'belive', 'develope', 'evey', 'formost', 'parenst', 'childrens', 'grap', 'deficuilties', 'hegitation', and 'occupie'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'group activities' and 'communication skills', the overall range is limited, and the word choice is often simplistic or inaccurate, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every youth has... its free time'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'it should be naturally adopt'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the high frequency of mistakes in basic grammar limits the score significantly.
