Student answer (Band 5.5)

Well here i would like to focus on the children day to day life where children are not giving time at home.

Now a days parents should focus on their children so that they can do some kind of activities. Moreover if we see new generations are more interested in technology like mobile, i-pad, video games and many more . We should remove them from there comfort zone and force them do out door activities like playing cricket, football, basket ball and much more sports. Reason behind this is if they do out side activity they will have a good health in future and they can be active all the time. The disadvantages is if we see now a days young kids are getting many health issues because the reason is they always on gadgets.

Even i want to share my thoughts of children should be responsible on doing there duties on there on. They should keep them self busy by doin house hold things when their parent are not around and they should keep the house tidy. Some young kids should take of there small siblings if they are younger to them in this way they can know there on responsibility in which they can come with in the future.

So as my point of view i would agree with both points because it is good for new generation that they can know their duties and can handle circumstance if there adults are not around and they do useful thing in free time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the argument regarding children learning to occupy themselves is somewhat repetitive and lacks specific, well-supported examples. The essay tends to over-generalize about 'new generations' and 'gadgets' without providing a nuanced discussion. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples rather than listing activities like 'cricket, football, basket ball'. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the response is insufficient for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use basic transition words like 'Moreover' and 'Even i want to share', which feel somewhat forced. The logical progression is occasionally interrupted by abrupt shifts in topic, such as the sudden transition from health issues to household chores. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with the use of 'there' instead of 'their' and 'them self' instead of 'themselves', which makes the text harder to follow. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring a smoother transition between sentences would significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on general terms like 'things', 'activities', and 'duties'. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'doin' instead of 'doing', 'there' instead of 'their', and 'circumstance' instead of 'circumstances'. These errors, while not always impeding communication, demonstrate a limited range of vocabulary. To improve, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to child development and social interaction, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'children are not giving time'), incorrect pronoun usage ('keep them self busy'), and frequent confusion between 'there', 'their', and 'they are'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. The frequency of these errors is high, which occasionally causes the reader to pause to understand the intended meaning. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
