Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, the upbringing becomes an integral part in children's life in terms of better improvement in their life. However, it is believed by some parents that children needs to be a part of teamwork while others opine that they should be learned by themselves. Both the sides will be elucidated in the ensuing paragraphs alongside my stand in conclusion.

To commence, number of benefits are offered by the group activities. The first and foremost is children can acquisite the omnipresent ideas from others on the same topic like on reading habits. Another fruitful advantage is that it creates competitive mindset to defeat the other group member which forces them to ameliorate their performance consistently. For example, in football team sport, athlete always can be seen to compare each-others fitness level. Last but not least, it assists them to divide the target in small duties to everyone which also minimise the workload on team members and boosts productivity of one's. For example, large departments are always divided into several associates in warehouses to run their operations smoothly.

On the other hand, being a isolated can allow someone to work on their weaknesses effortlessly without any disturbance from others. For instance, if boxer wants to improve his modus operandi than he needs to practice on it alone without any hindrance. In other words, one can procure a chance to locate where they actually has to sharp them. Apart from this, it also alleviates the situation in which people need to wait to be together. Henceforth, one can able to work at anytime independently.

After analysing both the views, in my opinion, people should more fostered to be a part of group activities rather than being alone as it provides competitive challenges, sharing thoughts, and less burden to be a best version of themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of teamwork for productivity and the advantages of independent practice for skill refinement. However, some points are slightly under-developed; for instance, the example regarding 'large departments' in warehouses is less relevant to children's development than the initial point about reading habits. The position is consistent throughout, but the development of arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. Overall, the task requirements are met, and the main ideas are clearly presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence', 'Another fruitful advantage', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as 'Henceforth, one can able to work'. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly abrupt transition between the two body paragraphs. Despite these minor flaws, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items like 'ameliorate', 'modus operandi', and 'alleviates'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'acquisite the omnipresent ideas' (acquire diverse ideas) and 'sharp them' (sharpen their skills). The phrase 'being a isolated' is also grammatically incorrect. While the student demonstrates a willingness to use a wider range of vocabulary, the lack of precision and occasional misuse of terms prevent a higher score. The meaning is generally clear despite these errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'children needs to be', 'they should be learned by themselves', 'one can able to work', and 'people should more fostered'. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, although they rarely impede communication. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the control over verb forms and passive voice constructions is inconsistent. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs and passive structures.
