Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 165 words long and ends abruptly mid-sentence. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the argument, the points are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples. The conclusion is entirely missing, and the position is not clearly maintained throughout. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words by expanding on your arguments with specific, detailed examples and ensuring a clear, logical structure that includes a proper introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses some basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'However', which help to signal the structure. However, the progression of ideas is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is cut off, which negatively impacts the overall flow and logical development. To achieve a higher score, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked more fluidly using a wider variety of cohesive devices, rather than relying on simple transition words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'mentally improvement' instead of 'mental improvement' and 'owing of teamwork' instead of 'due to teamwork'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'entertain to themselves via independently' and 'take a better decisions'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors is high for the limited amount of text produced. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors such as article usage and pluralization.
