Student answer (Band 6.5)
Children are the base of our country. A group of individuals encourage their children to participate in well-organize activities. However, others want to give them free time and opportunity to develop by themselves. We will discuss both views and give my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, enrolling children in the planned activities can provide a number of benefits such as socialization, leadership and need to follow the certain rules. To explain, it can provide the chance to interact with the different children and help to get socialize in safe environment. It can aid in the development of interpersonal skills and many more. For instance, if child need to lead the team at certain time without any backup option, it can ultimately lead to development of leadership skill in the children. In addition, it also help them to know the importance of following rules and regulation to become a good member. For example, if the person break the rules, they will automatically disqualified form the team. It can significantly aid to develop the sense of following certain rules.
On the other hand, other people believe that we need to let the children learn how to organize themselves by their own. It also has a significant advantages such as exploring own interests and hobbies, develop new creativity and better use of their time. To explain it, when we give a chance to do the activities or spend a day in a way they like it. There are a lot of chances that children will occupy themselves in the things they like the most and it will help to identify their hobbies. Additionally, the children will also know how to make a schedule and use their time wisely. To exemplify, if the children need to decide how to spend their whole day, they will try to think on that and it will help them to develop creativity, time management and exploring new things.
In conclusion, both aspects has its own benefits. I would suggest to enroll children in organised group activities as it has a number of advantages like safe and supervised learning, socialization and knowing the importance of following the rules. However, other aspect also has significant beneficial reasons such as finding own interests and developing creativity cannot be neglected.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported with examples, such as the mention of leadership skills and time management. However, some arguments are slightly repetitive, and the development could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. For instance, the explanation of 'socialization' is somewhat generic. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points while reiterating the writer's stance. To improve, ensure that each supporting example is more distinct and fully explored to avoid over-generalization.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'To exemplify' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing, such as 'the person' in the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns consistently refer back to clear nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'interpersonal skills', 'supervised learning', and 'time management'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'get socialize' (should be 'socialize'), 'disqualified form' (should be 'from'), and 'the person break the rules' (should be 'if a child breaks the rules'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'both aspects has', 'it also help them') and article usage (e.g., 'the certain rules', 'the different children'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor slips throughout. The majority of sentences are understandable, but the frequency of these small errors prevents the writing from being considered highly accurate. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the score.
