Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, there is a debate about how their children should spend their free time. Some people say that their children should take part in organized group activities, while others say that children should learn how to spend their time on their own. This essay will discuss both views, according to my opinion children need a balance in both group and independent activities.
On the one hand, organized group activities are beneficial for children in many ways. Activities such as cricket, football, swimming allow children to meet other people and make new circle. As a result, they can develop social skills such as, teamwork , communication, understanding ,and cooperation. Furthermore, participants can teach children to become more discipline, and responsible because they have to follow rules and attend all the activities regularly. For example, children who play football in a team learn how to cooperate and respect other players. Also they can learn the importance of punctuality, which will be very beneficial for them in their later.
On the other hand, it is also important for children to learn how to spend time on their own without relying on other people. Spending some time alone can make children more independent and creative. They can learn new things such as painting, DIY, or reading books and solving puzzle without disruption , these things can boost their understanding and make them more sharpen then others as they can choose things to do according to own choice. These can also help to improve their imagination and problem-solving skills. In addition, if parents organize every part of their children's free time for convenience, children may become dependent on others to finding everything and entertainment.
In my opinion, both types of activities are necessary for a child's development. Parents should encourage their children to take part in group activities to learn more, but they should also give them enough free time so they can learn to entertain themselves independently and know their inner talent. This approach can help children to balance both social and independent life.
In conclude, group activities can help children to learn manners and socially active, while spending time with themselves help to be enjoy moments independently without relying on others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt. You clearly discuss both views regarding group activities and independent play, and you provide a distinct personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the benefits of teamwork and the development of creativity through solitary play. To reach a higher band, ensure that all supporting points are fully extended; for instance, the mention of 'discipline' could be more explicitly linked to how specific group rules foster this trait. Overall, the position is consistent and the task requirements are met effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central topic, and you use transition signals like 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition' to guide the reader. However, some cohesive devices are used in a slightly mechanical way, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the vague use of 'these things' or 'these' to refer back to previous concepts. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, which helps the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'teamwork', 'cooperation', and 'independent'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'make new circle' (should be 'make new friends' or 'expand their social circle'), 'become more discipline' (should be 'disciplined'), and 'make them more sharpen' (should be 'sharper'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with word forms and articles (e.g., 'in their later' instead of 'later in life', 'to finding' instead of 'to find', and 'socially active' instead of 'socially active people'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some spacing issues before commas. The errors are noticeable but rarely prevent the reader from understanding your intended meaning.
