Student answer (Band 6.5)
It has been an issue of debate among people, some believe that parents should motivate their offspring to participate in team sports in their free time, while other opt that it would be great if they occupy themselves on their own. I will discuss both views and give my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
The utmost important reason why people think children should indulge in team activities when they have free time is coordination. In other words, toddlers will learn how to work in groups which could lead them to the future success. Since there are many face in the life in which humans have to work with group of people, such as at school, college, and at work. Furthermore, working together with a group of people always teaches them leadership quality. In a group, they can learn how to manage different personality people in a similar environment, which will be very useful for them in the future.
On the other hand, there are plethora of reasons why children left alone in order to learn themselves what is good for them is that, firstly, It helps them to take their own decisions which will make them independent. This decision making skill is very important in child's life because they could know that they are solely responsible for the outcomes of their decisions. Therefore, they think twice before making any big decisions. Additionally, they can learn from their past mistakes. To clarify, being alone always encourage them to think about themselves, as a result of this, they may find out the mistake that they did and they can learn form them.
In my opinion, both team activities and being a alone are important in children's life in order to gain success in their life. While team sports teaches them leadership and coordination, being a alone made them indepedent.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of coordination and leadership for group activities, and the development of independence for solitary time. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of 'future success' is a bit vague, and the argument regarding 'toddlers' is slightly misaligned with the general concept of children. While the position is clear, the supporting points could be extended with more specific examples to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is well-structured and fulfills the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In other words,' 'Furthermore,' and 'On the other hand,' though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the third paragraph, which occasionally disrupts the smooth progression of ideas. Overall, the structure is coherent and supports the reader's understanding.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use less common items like 'plethora' and 'indulge,' which is positive. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'many face in the life' (should be 'many facets of life') and 'being a alone' (should be 'being alone'). These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band. The range is sufficient but lacks the sophistication required for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'other opt that' (others opt for), 'different personality people' (people with different personalities), and 'children left alone' (children being left alone). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in article usage and subject-verb agreement. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, the writer should focus on refining sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement, as these errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score.
