Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no denying that the perceptions of people have changed in recent years because of modernization. Some individuals suggest that it is the responsibility of parents to support their children to take part in group activities, while others argue that it would be more better if they learn by themselves. I would discuss both ways along with my opinion why group work has more benefits.

On the one hand, some say that parents should cheer their offspring to work with others because this way would make them more civilized. For example, if a child starts working with their peer groups on a specific project, then surely, he would be more attentive and will adopt problem-solving traits such as leadership, team-spirit, patience and how to be determined while working which he cannot get while working by alone.

On the other hand, some masses opine that it would be more beneficial if they try to work on their own. To elaborate on this, It is undeniable that most companies hire only those candidates who are all rounder and not only this case, if children adopt some skills by their own and learn to survive in modern era, eventually this way will make them more stronger and experienced. In future, they will not be dependent on others for any productivity.

I believe that working with others teach a great lesson at young age. Not only that, their perceptions also change with others which make them more well human being. Thus, parents must inspire their children to work with others.

To conclude, although both ways have their own valid points, it is important for youngsters to show their interest in group activities as this way, they also will not feel ignorant in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for independent play mentions 'surviving in the modern era' and being 'all-rounders,' but these points are not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The ideas are relevant but remain at a somewhat superficial level. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your reasoning with more specific illustrations or deeper analysis of the long-term impacts of these activities on child development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To conclude,' which help guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though some transitions between sentences within paragraphs feel a bit abrupt. The overall progression of ideas is logical, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'modernization,' 'problem-solving traits,' and 'independent.' However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'more better' (a grammatical error that also affects lexical precision), 'cheer their offspring,' and 'more well human being.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the range and precision of your language. To improve, focus on learning more natural collocations and avoiding redundant or slightly unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'more better' (double comparative), 'working by alone' (incorrect preposition/adverb usage), and 'make them more stronger' (another double comparative). Additionally, there are minor issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and avoiding double comparatives would significantly improve your score.
