Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undeniably, children are like a clay who can be mould into any shape. Therefore, some inhabitants believe that it is the responsibility of the caretakers to encourage their kids to work in group activities whereas, opponents think that juveniles can know what is best for them by learning alone rather than work with others. I will discuss both views along with the reason behind this statement in the upcoming paragraphs.
on the one hand, why parents should encourage children to participate in group activities? First and the foremost reason is that when kids work in team they learn different skills such as teamwork, leadership skills, decision making skills which lead to develop confidence in the kids. Another reason is that group activities also give opportunities to interact with others which helps to learn cultural and ethical values, traditions and distinctive language and backgrounds. Socialize with others also helps to learn different knowledge and also share ideas with each others and less burden on their mind work is divided and everyone complete their assigned task on time which is very beneficial for the growth of the children. For instance, In Schools and colleges group activities are created and children can participate and get a chance to with people from different backgrounds and learn different cultures.
On the other hand,
When children spend time alone they are more creative and think critically about any specific topic. which is helpful to generate interest. which lead to become independent and imaginative. Furthermore, Children can spend time by their own by reading books and painting. This skill helps in future to think creatively and take wise decision independently.
To conclude, parents should inspire their children to take participate in both types of activities rather than one. In my opinion, although organised activities helps to generate different skills but parents should also give the children enough free time to think properly in which they are more interested in.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of group activities are explored with some detail, the section on independent play is less developed and relies on brief, list-like points. The introduction contains some awkward phrasing, such as 'children are like a clay', which slightly impacts the clarity of the initial position. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with specific examples or logical consequences rather than just listing benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'another reason is' and 'furthermore'. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion; for example, the sentence 'When children spend time alone they are more creative and think critically about any specific topic. which is helpful to generate interest.' contains a fragment. The transition between paragraphs is functional, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences are connected more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations. For example, 'inhabitants' is used incorrectly to refer to people in general, and 'caretakers' is a less natural choice than 'parents' or 'guardians' in this context. Phrases like 'less burden on their mind work is divided' are clunky and hinder the natural flow of the argument. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'collaborative' or 'independent', the overall range is limited, and errors in word formation occasionally occur.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'activities helps'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters or using fragments. The sentence 'on the one hand, why parents should encourage children to participate in group activities?' is grammatically incorrect as it is phrased as a question rather than a statement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures.
