Student answer (Band 6.0)
As we know there is always been this dicussion about that some people say that parents should motivate their children to take part in group activities in their free time while others say that it is crucial to learn by their own. In my opinion, children should spend more time in organised group activties in their time.
One major reason, I pushed parents to encourage their children to spend their time in organized group activites because children have mellable brain in this stage of their life. If they spend time in group activities related to different fields such as football, basketball, swimming, group studies in library, group presentations. Children gained experience and knowledge about vast number of topics in very early age, they would learn about different cultures, languages, how different sports needs different kind of skills. Overall, they learn how to manage relationships with people, how to talk properly with their peers and how to stood out from the crowd. As we know life is all about competition.
Secondly, children who only focused on learning by themselves became very different from other students, yes they acquire skills of the craft such as coding, reading and many more but they failed to develop basic human connection skills. They could not able to handle conversation with the people for longer hours. This will effect their interaction in future job interviews or even in their love life and parents. Because they don’t know how to be a better human being overall to survive in this world.
In conclusion, although some families want their children to learn and occupy themselves their own which has some benefits but I believe parents should persuade children to take part in oragnised group on regular basis to excel in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of group activities are explored with several examples, the discussion regarding learning to occupy oneself is less developed and relies on generalizations about social skills. The argument is clear, but the supporting points could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis is limited, particularly in the second body paragraph where the negative implications of solitary learning are somewhat overstated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One major reason', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the benefits of group activities and the critique of solitary learning could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved to ensure a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary like 'mellable brain' (intended as 'malleable') and 'human connection skills'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'dicussion', 'mellable', and 'oragnised'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on common words rather than more precise or sophisticated alternatives. While the meaning is generally clear, the errors in spelling and collocation prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('children gained experience', 'life is all about competition'), incorrect verb forms ('how to stood out'), and awkward phrasing ('I pushed parents to encourage'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and affect the overall fluency of the writing. A greater focus on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
