Student answer (Band 6.0)
Children are the foundation of the society who forms the basis of the society. Therefore, a portion of parents believe their children must participate in group activities in the leisure time while others consider that they should focus on their individual development.
Both point of views have their own advantages which are discussed in upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with the benefits of engaging their wards in social activities , the first and foremost one is , children get a chance to develop interpersonal skills like team work, cooperation , time management, leadership qualities and many more. In addition , every child has their own special skills and talent. That's why spending time in group activities help a pupil to overcome their weaknesses and empowering their strengths. To exemplify, a child good in solving mathematical equations can help others who are weak in this field.
On the other hand, considering positive impacts of focusing on personal development, the predominant one is, every child has
his own pace of learning so, involvement in group activities can make a child feel inferior and for these children one to one learning is more productive. Another point is some children are introvert and they are not able to express themselves in a group which hinders their growth therefore , first personality development of that child is required so that he can gain confidence in public speaking.
To conclude, there are plethora of advantages of participation in group activities as well as one to one learning. In my opinion, it depends on child to child that whether he is comfortable in group activities or individual grooming.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like 'interpersonal skills' and 'individual learning,' the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better synthesised the main points to provide a more robust final stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of the arguments presented rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with,' 'In addition,' and 'On the other hand' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes a bit mechanical. Additionally, there are minor issues with punctuation and referencing, such as the awkward phrasing in the introduction ('Children are the foundation of the society who forms the basis of the society'). Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring more varied transition markers would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'interpersonal skills,' 'predominant,' and 'productive.' However, there are some instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'individual grooming' (which is not the standard collocation for personal development) and 'plethora of advantages' (which is slightly overused). To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms would help you move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the society'), subject-verb agreement ('a portion of parents believe'), and punctuation (excessive spaces before commas). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'it depends on child to child.' While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining sentence structure will be key to improvement.
