Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays due to advancement in technology, childrens are spending more time on mobile phones to occupy themselves on their own. However , few individuals are of opinion that it is the parents responsibility to guide them in networking in their leisure time. Both the views will be discussed further before my comment.
The proponent opines that kids must be encouraged by their guardians to spent their free time for team activities, such as, playing sports, doing project work and cooking short meals along with friends. This team work will helps in nurturing the overall development of young ones. Not only that, it foster the mental growth and help to boost their imagination as everyone in the group has different ideas for specific topic; which futher enhance their confidence in presenting infront of everyone.
The opponent of the latter view believes that, children must be set free in selecting the activities for their leisure. They claim that, by giving them flexibility kids will learn how to become independent and this helps in decision making from the very early age. Moreover, this will further help the young ones in their future endeavours when they have to take a big decision on their profession or the personal life.
Overall, I think at an early age it must be parents resposibility to arrange for the free time activities for pupils. Although, it is sometimes good to give flexibility in choosing the activities on their own but it proves vulnerable when the young ones select to spend mlost of the times over phone. Because of which I believe the ownership should be in the hands of parents to decide what they have suppose to do in their free time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of teamwork for social development and the value of independence for decision-making. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'vulnerability' when children use phones is a good point, but it could have been expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully elaborated with concrete examples or logical consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'Although', which help to link sentences and ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'the latter view' which is slightly ambiguous in context. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a coherent response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'nurturing', 'overall development', 'flexibility', and 'future endeavours'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'networking in their leisure time' (which is slightly unnatural in this context) and 'what they have suppose to do'. There are also a few spelling errors, such as 'mlost' and 'resposibility'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'childrens' (pluralization error), 'it is the parents responsibility' (missing possessive apostrophe), and 'team work will helps' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the space before the comma in 'However ,'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement, possessive forms, and proofreading for minor mechanical slips.
