Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people think that parents should allow there children to join free time group activities for there grouth and better thinking ability and other think they should be allow to learn from there own. Both side have some valid reason but I will go with first group of people and I will explain why.

First, Those people who think kids should learn from a disciplind group because spending time with so many people offer them to learn so many thinks like how to behave, how to talk to others pulitely, how to solve problems and so many. It also help them to build confidence.

On the other hand, according to other people, kids can learn by there own. Spending time with there own helps them to know themself better. They get to know what they like and what they do not. What is there goal and they get enough time to explore themself.

My personal opinion always will be learn from a group of people and group activities. I have also learned so many skills for many people and I apply those in my life. It helps me to grow in my life.Spending time time with ourself is also important but not more then learn for a group of people. We can learn many skills from many people and apply them in our persol life.

In the end, I want to say self learning is important but learning and spending time with a organised group is more important for the children for there groth

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the arguments for group activities are repetitive, focusing on 'learning skills' without specific examples. The arguments for independent play are also underdeveloped, lacking depth regarding the psychological benefits of solitude. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your points with concrete examples or logical explanations rather than simply stating that something is 'important'. The position is consistent, but the overall depth of the discussion is insufficient for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very basic and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'First' and 'On the other hand' are used, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'I have also learned so many skills for many people', where the connection to the previous paragraph is weak. The progression of ideas is present but lacks the logical flow required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors that are distracting, such as 'there' instead of 'their', 'grouth' instead of 'growth', 'disciplind' instead of 'disciplined', and 'pulitely' instead of 'politely'. These errors occur throughout the text and indicate a lack of control over basic vocabulary. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of words used is narrow, and there is no attempt to use less common or more precise lexical items to express complex ideas. Improving spelling and expanding your vocabulary range is essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'I will go with first group of people' (missing article) and 'not more then learn for a group' (incorrect preposition and comparative structure). Subject-verb agreement and word order issues are frequent. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your use of articles, prepositions, and verb forms is accurate before attempting more complex structures.
