Student answer (Band 6.0)
The ongoing debate whether kids should be encouraged by their family to participate in the organized activities when they get leisure time, or it is essential for the children to learn by theirselves. Since team tasks help to acquire knowledge quickly and build coordination among children, I believe learning by own can boost inner confidence and help to find various solutions for the problems.
On the one hand, there are numerous benefits to do group activities. While doing tasks in a team can help children to grasp more knowledge, it can be easy for them to gain more information if they need help. Moreover, team work can help to build coordination among kids, which is quite essential for the learning growth. For instance, playing football in a group maintain the cooperation between the players for winning. Therefore, group activities help children to grow their inner knowledge.
On the other hand, it is essential for children to learn by theirselves for the inner growth. However learning alone can be more beneficial children, it can help to boost their confidence naturally. Furthermore, kids who prefer to grasp information by their own, they can easily brainstorm their ideas in any circumstances. For example, a famous personality called Amir Khan always learn from his mistakes by his own and find solutions to resolve his problems without getting anyone's help. Thus, doing activities alone can help to learn more skills.
In conclusion, although group tasks are organized for children to build cooperation and coordination among each other, I believe that children who prefer to learn alone can build their confidence naturally and learn from their mistakes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on children's activities and clearly stating the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are generally relevant, such as discussing teamwork for coordination and independent learning for confidence. However, some arguments remain somewhat repetitive and under-developed, falling short of full extension. For example, the point about group activities helping children to 'grasp more knowledge' is repeated without much elaboration, and the example regarding 'Amir Khan' is brief and slightly vague. Nevertheless, the main positions are sufficiently covered to meet the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, including a distinct introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical. For instance, phrases like 'by theirselves' and 'learn by their own' create awkward repetition, and paragraph transitions can feel somewhat formulaic. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but the flow of ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical imprecision in connective phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'coordination', 'cooperation', and 'circumstances'. However, there are notable lexical errors and unnatural word choices throughout the text, most prominently 'by theirselves' and 'learn by their own' instead of 'by themselves' or 'independently'. Other minor slips, such as 'maintain the cooperation' instead of 'maintain cooperation' or 'foster cooperation', prevent the score from reaching a higher band. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay incorporates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing dependent clauses and conditional structures such as 'While doing tasks in a team can help children...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in sentence structures and prepositions, including 'debate whether kids should be encouraged... or it is essential', 'benefits to do group activities', and 'children who prefer to grasp information by their own, they can easily...'. These errors in grammar and punctuation persist throughout the text, though they rarely impede overall communication. Control is characteristic of the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
