Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some intellectuals support that, children should encourage by their parents to participate in organized group activities on their leisure time while another group of thinkers believe that, children allow them to entertain themselves independently. My advocacy that group activities can help children development like social skills and learning to spend time alone is equally important for their personal development, which will be explain in essay citing relevant examples.

To begin with, organized group activities, prime benefit is that can provide children with several important benefits such as learn different types of skill. this is to say, if children meet with other children or participate in multiple activities allow to develop their communication skills, sportsmanship, leadership and many more. For example, as per survey of "UNESCO" 70 to 80 % children whom are participate in numerous activities are more well behave, cooperative and respect other people. Moreover, it will also help them to learn qualities and responsible at early stage of life. This means, that type of children are learn social skill and share responsibilities and respect others opinions.

on contrary, the latter view suggest that, children should also have opportunity to occupy themselves without depending on other people. This is to say, children learn how to make their own decision and manage their time and experience the difficult alone. Furthermore, spending time alone can encourage creativity, independence and problem solving skills. To explain, children can find their interest and develop their skills. For instance, many children read a book, draw a picture, build something or develop a new hobby.

In my opinion, balance between these two approach is the most beneficial. parents should encourage children to participate in suitable group activities because it develop team work, cooperative, leadership quality and sense of responsibilities and respect other people point of view. However, children can spend their alone time for their personal growth and chance to learn favourite hobbies.

To conclude, that organized activities can help children develop social and teamwork skills, whereas spending time alone can promote independence and creativity. Both are equally important for children upbringing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether children should participate in organized group activities or learn to occupy themselves independently, and provides a clear personal opinion. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are generally well-extended, such as the discussion on how group activities foster social skills and teamwork, and how alone time promotes creativity and problem-solving. However, some of the supporting points, like the UNESCO reference, lack precise integration and contain sweeping over-generalizations typical of Band 6 or 7. Overall, the prompt requirements are adequately fulfilled, meriting a solid score for task response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view in turn, a statement of personal opinion, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On contrary' are used to signal the progression of ideas, although some cohesive devices are mechanical or slightly awkward. Referencing is generally functional, but occasional punctuation and linking errors interrupt the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, but the overall progression of cohesion could be smoother and more sophisticated to reach higher band levels.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'sportsmanship', 'independence', and 'cooperative'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'children should encourage by their parents' instead of 'children should be encouraged', and 'prime benefit is that can provide'. Spelling errors and incorrect word forms appear in several places (e.g., 'well behave' instead of 'well-behaved', 'alone time' instead of 'solitary time'). While the meaning is generally clear, these inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching Band 7.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical and structural errors, particularly with voice and verb forms, such as 'children allow them to entertain themselves' and 'children whom are participate'. Punctuation is also problematic in places, with missing commas and awkward clause boundaries. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur regularly and limit the proportion of completely error-free sentences, placing the grammar performance firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
