Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniable that correct guidance to children at their early age will largely impact their growth. There are parents who guide and motivate kids to utilise thier free time to devote towards doing something valuable, whearas their are people who believe children should decide on thier own how they want to plan their free time. In this essay we will discuss both the view and will share my opinion on what will be more benificial for young children.
On one hand young ones who are being guided by parents for taking part in group activities in spare time, will be learning skills like decilipine, team work, and will be making friends in whle engaging with them in multiple activities. This results in development of their cognitive ability as well as keep them socially active. For instance children who participate in quiz compitions always tend to develop their knowledge bank and maturity to work as a team. Which proves that parental guidance towards growth of a child is improtant.
On other hand, their are people who believe their children should learn on their own; how to utilise their solitude time for an effective utilization. This might lead to development of decision making capablities in a kid, but there is a risk of spoiling themselves as to devoting maximum time to online gaming of watching cartoons which will not help with grow in their life. Such has nower days their are many online games made to lure children for spending maximum time in a virtual world, this leads to certain heath problems in eyes due to long hours on mobile phones. The parental guidance plays a vital role in delepoment of a child.
To conclude, a considerable amount of importance should be given to how a child utilise his solitude time, thier are benifits of parental guidance which palys a vital role in development of child at young age who motivate them to participate in gorup activities, their are also people who want their child to make decision on their own. I strongly belive a guidance to children is important as to move in correct direction to make their future secure. Adds long term benifits to child.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on how children should spend their free time and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer considers the benefits of organised group activities, such as cognitive and social development, alongside the potential risks of allowing children complete autonomy, such as excessive screen time. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, like quiz competitions and online gaming. However, the reasoning and development occasionally wander into over-generalised claims without fully exploring the nuanced counter-arguments, which places this performance securely at Band 6.5 to 7. Overall, the prompt is fully satisfied with a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall progression with a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to connect sentences, such as 'On one hand,' 'On other hand,' and 'To conclude,' though some referencing is slightly mechanical or repetitive ('their are people'). While logical organisation is maintained throughout, occasional errors in cohesion and referencing prevent it from reaching a higher band, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of the structural control demonstrated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate for the topic, including terms like 'cognitive ability,' 'decision making capablities,' and 'solitude time.' However, there are frequent spelling errors that detract from precision, such as 'thier' instead of 'their', 'whearas' for 'whereas', 'decilipine' for 'discipline', 'compitions' for 'competitions', 'delepoment' for 'development', and 'benifits' for 'benefits'. Despite these spelling and word-choice lapses, communication is rarely impeded, and the lexical range is sufficient to meet the basic demands of the task, earning a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over multi-clause structures, such as in 'While children who participate in quiz compitions always tend to develop their knowledge bank...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including fragment sentences ('Which proves that parental guidance towards growth of a child is improtant.', 'Adds long term benifits to child.'), incorrect prepositions, and subject-verb agreement issues ('there are people... their are people'). These errors cause occasional strain for the reader, aligning closely with the Band 6 descriptor where complex structures frequently contain errors.
