Student answer (Band 5.5)
With the advancement of technology, Nowadays, kids are addictive to play video games online. They do not care about what is going on around them. A few people and I believe that parents should tell them to take part in group activities to utilized their free time. However, other say that they will learn better just spending time with themselves only. I would like to discuss the both phases of the argumnent in the upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, If parents encourge their kids to spend time with a group of kids then, kids will have more chnaces to grow. In a group they can learn how other kids behave and play. For Example, if a 5 years old would be engaged in a group acativity they he or she will learn how other kids are playing and it would help them to grab some new skills. Moreover, if a kid is taking part in a group activity they their is a chance to learn how to cooperate with others.
On the other hand, people believe that kids should learn how they can enjoy themselves in their free time. They think that in this way kids will find a way how to play alone if you do not have anyone else to play with you. Parents wanted to teach their kids how they learn on their own without watching other kids.
In conclusion, I would like to say that group activities would be best idea for children to kill their free time. Group activities are more important for them to understand how to behave with other like share toys and respect other kids.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding organised group activities and independent play, while also offering a personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat under-developed and limited in scope. For example, the arguments regarding why children should play in groups are quite basic, focusing primarily on learning how others play and sharing toys. The stance is present, but the overall development remains brief and repetitive. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the lack of fully extended supporting arguments aligns this response with a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a basic overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though the division could be managed more effectively. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as 'First of all, If parents encourge...' and 'In conclusion, I would like to say that group activities would be best idea'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen with pronoun shifts like 'if a 5 years old would be engaged... he or she... they he or she will learn'. These issues with cohesion and referencing place this response at Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and adequate only for basic communication. There are noticeable word-choice errors, such as 'kids are addictive to play video games' instead of 'addicted to playing', and 'to utilized their free time' instead of 'utilize'. Other errors include 'argumnent' and 'acativity'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'advancement of technology' and 'cooperate', the frequent spelling and grammatical form errors restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as punctuation issues ('With the advancement of technology, Nowadays'), tense and modal confusion ('they their is a chance'), and article omissions or errors ('would be best idea'). Complex structures are often faulty, for instance, 'if a 5 years old would be engaged in a group acativity they he or she will learn'. These frequent errors frequently impede smooth reading, justifying a Band 5.0 score.
