Student answer (Band 6.0)

Children should take part in group activities or they should learn how to stay occupied in their free time. There are two different views by group of humans. In next paragrapghs, i will discuss both views and will give my opinion as per my knowledge.

On the one hand, a bunch of human beings believe that it is very important thing for parents to encourage their children to take some part in pre organised group activities like Social acivities, charity work, team sports and dance - music group. These types of activities not only for fun and spending their free time. Children can learn a lot of valuable and practical skills from these like communication skills, Leadership and team management skills. Taking part of some business or corporate work helps to boost kids of decision making and problem solving abilities. For Instance, as per report of Hindustan Times 2025, 20% of children whose age range between 10 -15 taking part in such group activites have more knowledge and more realistic thinking power compared to others.

On the other hand, many individuals have suggestion that children should learn by themselves to stay occupied. Parents play very important role of overall growth of children. However, children should also have opportunities to entertain themselve on thier own without guiding by their parents. Independent free time gives them to go beyond their imagination and make their own choices. They spend these time in some activites like content craetion, painting, gaming and many more which help them eventually in overall growth. For Example, a child who is given a free time may choose a read book, draw or building a new hobby. These experience can encourage creativity and independence. In addition, children can learn to balance boredom rather than depenfding on their parents.

In my opinon, parents should maintain a balance between these two approaches. Too much involving kids in group activies might be faded away from creation and imagination power and independence. That's why proper balance between these two approaches encourage overall growth and expansion of children's life in a postive way.

In conclusion, group activies can teach some moral and much needed social skills like intreraction with others competitve skills and more while independent activities help young ones to think out of the box and create something unique with iamgination and creativity. Balance btween these to will defenitly work and give you best results.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on children's free time activities and presenting a clear personal opinion. The student provides relevant ideas, such as the social and leadership benefits of group activities and the creative independence fostered by solo time. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or supported with vague generalisations, such as the fabricated statistic cited as 'report of Hindustan Times 2025'. The position is maintained throughout the essay and the conclusion summarises the main points effectively. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 6.5, leaning towards Band 6 due to minor generalisations and somewhat repetitive support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is arranged coherently with a clear overall progression. The student uses standard paragraphing principles, introducing each view in separate body paragraphs and concluding effectively. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help to guide the reader through the arguments. However, referencing is occasionally faulty, and some cohesive links feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, such as 'These types of activities', 'These spend these time', and 'In my opinion' followed immediately by another opinion paragraph. Paragraphing and logical flow are maintained well enough to satisfy the requirements of Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate for the task, including phrases like 'pre organised group activities', 'practical skills', and 'content creation'. There are, however, several noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'bunch of human beings' instead of 'some people', 'taking some part' instead of 'taking part', 'faded away from creation' instead of 'detrimental to creativity', and spelling errors like 'paragrapghs', 'acivities', and 'depenfding'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they demonstrate limitations that restrict the score to a Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. Examples include 'Children who are given a free time may choose a read book...' and 'Too much involving kids in group activies might be faded away...'. However, grammatical errors and awkward phrasing are frequent throughout the response, such as missing articles ('a read book' instead of 'to read a book', 'spend these time'), incorrect prepositions ('taking part of some business'), and faulty subject-verb agreement or tense usage ('Balance btween these to will defenitly work'). These errors occasionally cause slight strain for the reader, placing the grammar comfortably at a Band 5.5 to 6.0.
