Student answer (Band 6.0)
Children are the precious one for parents. A number of individuals say that mother and father have to motivate their child to participate in social activities during their leisure time. However, others have different point of view, as they think that young people have to develop skills on their own to remain busy during free time. Both type of individuals have their own perspective. This essay will describe both views in detail and I will give my opinion at the end of the essay.
Firstly, parents have responsibilities to teach their toddlers about how to use certain time to enhance their skills. In simple words, youngsters most of the time listen and follow footstep of their seniors, therefore it is foremost important to teach their child to take part in collective activity to overcoming fear and anxiety. For example, by encouraging them to participate in social events, child can start communicating with number of people by sharing their ideas. Moreover, parents support boost self-confidence in their child, which is very necessary thing in upbring.
On the other side, certain people have opposite opinion. First of all, the youngsters have to decide what to do in their free time by themselves, which enhance their decision making skills. Simply, if children think and do some activity then they can start making their own decision. Furthermore, young individuals start exploring things and develop their own hobby, which is beneficial for them in future. For instance, some child like to do dancing in their free time and that can definitely help them to expand their career in upcoming years.
In line with the views presented above, it can be concluded that both these views have their own adherents and merits attached to them. I personally have a neutral opinion on this. I think there should be a some encouragement by parents to develop some skills and sometime it is important to decide something to do themselves for better outcome.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on how children should spend their free time and providing a personal opinion in the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as discussing social skills and decision-making, though some points are slightly under-developed and generalisations are present, as seen when the writer states 'youngsters most of the time listen and follow footstep of their seniors'. The position is clear throughout the essay, though the conclusion is somewhat cautious and neutral ('I personally have a neutral opinion'). Overall, the task is adequately addressed, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'Firstly', 'On the other side', 'Furthermore', and 'In line with the views presented above'. However, referencing and cohesion are at times mechanical or slightly faulty, for instance, using 'Both type of individuals' instead of 'Both types of individuals', and occasional awkward transitions. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but the logical flow between sentences could be smoother, which places this response securely at Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas effectively. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary and phrases, such as 'collective activity', 'overcoming fear and anxiety', and 'decision making skills'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'Children are the precious one for parents', 'follow footstep of their seniors', and 'do dancing'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical slips and limited precision prevent the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 6 appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures like 'if children think and do some activity then they can start making their own decision.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as singular/plural mismatches ('A number of individuals say that mother and father have to motivate their child'), missing articles ('participate in social events, child can start communicating'), and preposition errors ('in upbring'). While these errors do not severely impede communication, they occur regularly and limit the range of error-free complex sentences, justifying a Band 5.5 score.
