Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that parents should motivate their children to take part in organised group activities in their vacant time. while other ipeople argue that children need to learn how to keep themselves on their own that is important. In my view the children who take part in group activities could get more benefit than children who is focus on their own.

On the first side , Many people say that parents should force thier peers to involve in group activities. When children take part in activities they learn various skills like leadership, communication and other social skills. Like how to respect elders and how to help someone who indeed. While doing activities in a group children also try their best to be them on top .

On the other side, some argue that it is beneficial for the children to learn how to occupy themselves on their own . Its choice of children to decide what they want to do. when children have no force from their gaurdians they can show their skill in diffrent zones, like most of nowadays prefer to choose singing, acting and vlogging line. if the children started doing these activities at early age they built more confient as they gain lot of experience by their own.

In my opinion, parents should prefer to motivate their children to indulged into group activities rather than doing it alone. There lot of advantages when children performing skills in gorup ,As they can spend more time with their friend so they can share their knowledage and same time they recieve lot of knowledge form thier friends .

In conclusion, It is a good idea for parents to encourage their children to take part in group compitetion. So that competetion could help to impove their overall academic performance .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both views required by the prompt and presents a clear position throughout, concluding that group activities are more beneficial. The ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as learning communication, leadership, and independence through individual hobbies like vlogging. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise and some minor under-development of ideas, particularly in the final paragraph where the mention of academic performance feels slightly disconnected from the main argument about social skills. Overall, the prompt is fully addressed in line with Band 6.5 to 7.0 criteria.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a clear overall organisation and attempts a logical progression throughout, with distinct paragraphs for each viewpoint and the writer's opinion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Phrases like 'On the first side' and 'On the other side' are unnatural variants of standard cohesive devices. Referencing and linking are occasionally unclear, such as abrupt transitions between sentences within paragraphs (e.g., 'Its choice of children to decide what they want to do. when children have no force...'). Paragraphing is present and mostly appropriate, but internal flow needs improvement, placing this firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'vacant time', 'gaurdians', 'vlogging', and 'indulgued'. However, there are frequent noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation (e.g., 'ipeople', 'force thier peers' instead of peers/children, 'diffrent zones', 'confient' instead of confident, 'compitetion'). While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, as the control over less common vocabulary is inconsistent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures like 'if the children started doing these activities at early age they built more confient'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('at early age'), subject-verb agreement issues ('children who is focus', 'there lot of advantages'), and run-on sentences. While simple sentences are generally clear, complex structures frequently contain errors that cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning with the Band 5.5 descriptors.
