Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different views whether guardians must motivate to their offsprings to enaged in group work in their leisure time or not. Although some people opine that pupils should spend free time according to themselves, i believe that parents need to guide them to do activities in free time.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why children have right to do favourite work in their leisure time. First and the foremost, when children do that things which they have keen interest, they can more enjoy which assists them for their mentally growth and health because they do not feel any kind of stress and anxiety in our life. Along with this, it would also encourage them to take any decision themselves in turn of which they can become an independent person as a result they have no need to look after taking any productive decisions which would more vital in their future.
Despite children take decision themselves, i think that parents should supervise their children what they do their free time due to certain reasons. Firstly, parents supervise their offsprings activities because they are immature and they have no difference between right and wrong activities as a consequence sometime they can involve in wrong activities which would spoil their future. Therefore, parents need to guide them that actiivties would either beneficial for them or not. Moreover, Guardians should need to encocuage their pupils to participate in group activities so they can learn important skills including problem solving, puntucal and communication and many more.
To conclude, while parents ought to guide their offspring what they would do in their free time, i also believe that children have right to take decision according to their interest but parents should supervise what they do in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on how children should spend their free time and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer presents relevant ideas regarding the benefits of independent leisure time and the advantages of adult supervision and group activities. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the points about mental growth and stress reduction lack specific elaboration or concrete examples. Furthermore, the discussion tends to generalise slightly without deep exploration of the core concepts. To reach a higher level, the writer would need to fully extend and support all arguments with richer details and clearer reasoning throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear central topic for each paragraph, reflecting the characteristics of the band. The response is divided into logical paragraphs with an introduction, separate body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Despite', and 'To conclude', but referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly repetitive, as seen with phrases like 'First and the foremost' and 'Moreover'. Additionally, paragraphing is utilised appropriately, though transitional links between sentences could flow more smoothly to establish a clearer progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'anxiety', 'supervise', and 'independent person'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, including 'offsprings' (offspring), 'enaged' (engaged), 'favourite work' (favourite activities), and 'puntucal' (punctual). Spelling and word-form errors occur throughout the text, such as 'actiivties' and 'encocuage', though they rarely impede general communication. To improve this criterion, the student needs to expand their control of lexical items, ensure correct word forms, and refine collocations for greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at structures like subordinate clauses and conditionals. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving prepositions, articles, and verb patterns, such as 'motivate to their offsprings to enaged', 'children have right', and 'what they do their free time'. Some complex structures are faulty or awkward, causing occasional difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must increase control over grammatical patterns, eliminate recurring structural errors, and ensure accurate use of articles and prepositions in complex sentences.
