Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You begin to address the discussion by explaining benefits of organised activities, including teamwork, confidence and learning from others. However, the response does not discuss the opposing view—that children should learn to occupy themselves independently—and it gives no clear, developed personal opinion. The ideas that are included are brief: for example, you say group activities help children become confident, but do not explain how or provide a relevant example. The response is also substantially below the required minimum length, leaving the task largely incomplete. To improve, cover both views, state your position clearly, and support each main point with explanation or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening statement is followed by a paragraph introduced with “First we will talk about group activities.” This gives the reader a simple sense of direction, and the ideas within that paragraph are broadly related. However, the discussion stops after one side, so there is no overall progression through both views to a conclusion. Some connections are also incomplete or awkward; “As we humans are social animals so interacting in a group” is not a complete sentence and does not clearly link to the next point. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, with clear links such as “In contrast” and “Overall.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “organised group activities,” “team work,” “confident,” and “experiences.” These choices show an effort to discuss children’s social development rather than relying only on very basic words. However, the range is narrow, and several spelling or word-choice problems make the writing less clear, such as “descipline,” “envirnment,” and “nourish” in the context of children learning skills. The phrase “engage childrens by them selves” is also unclear. Build a more accurate range of expressions for both sides of the topic, and check spelling and collocations. For example, children can “develop social skills” or “pursue independent interests.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes some attempts at longer structures, such as “They can be nourish by knowing the importance of team work,” and “As we humans are social animals so interacting in a group.” However, these constructions are not controlled: the first lacks the correct passive form, while the second is a sentence fragment with an unnecessary linking structure. There are also errors in agreement and sentence formation, as in “organised group activities provides,” and the opening sentence has an unclear structure. Most sentences are understandable in context, but the limited range and recurring inaccuracies restrict clarity. Practise complete subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement and verb forms.
