Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people thinks that parents should encourage their children to participate in group activities in their leisure time while others argue that it is significant to appreciate your children to engage themselves on their own. Although, children who are encourage to play independently is also help in learning but I believe that group activity plays a significant role in learning. This essay will discusses the both view in the following paragraphs.

On one side, many individuals motivate their children to involve in activities with other children because they think that group activity is a fastest way to learn something new and also helps in learning many things from other children.

Moreover, students playing with other classmates like cricket, football and hide and seek it leads to teach them different skills at a time. For example, pupil who makes group assignments and presentations leads to development of leadership qualities and also build competitive skills. Thus teamwork or group activity is crucial for learning various things quickly.

On the other hand, some parents have different opinion about this they argue that children should be encourage to learn lonely because it pushes their mind to solve problems by their own. In addition to this, school going children who solve puzzles by themself enable them to learn how to tackle different problems in upcoming life. For instance, mostly guardians prefer to involve their children at home in indoor activities like involve them in playing games at mobile phones. So, it results in more cognitive development by solve things by themselves.

In my opinion, although individual learning alone also helps in cognitive development but I strongly agree that, group learning have more positive impacts and results in learning rapidly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for group activities, especially in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant examples include team sports, group assignments, puzzles, and independent play. However, the two views are not developed equally: the benefits of teamwork are explained through leadership and competition, while the case for independent activity is less clearly reasoned. The mobile-phone example is also not a strong illustration of children learning to occupy themselves constructively. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how independent activities build problem-solving or self-reliance, and extend your comparison before concluding why group learning is more valuable overall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a concluding opinion. The progression from group activities to independent learning is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On one side,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” help readers navigate the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, several links feel mechanical, and some references are unclear—for example, “this” in “this they argue” does not clearly identify the point being referred to. The sentence beginning “Moreover, students playing…” also lacks a clear connection between its subject and result. Use more precise referencing and vary transitions by showing the actual relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the question, including “leadership qualities,” “competitive skills,” “cognitive development,” and “problem-solving.” These choices show an attempt to go beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word combinations and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “appreciate your children to engage,” “learn lonely,” and “learning rapidly.” Repetition of “group activity,” “learning,” and “children” also limits flexibility. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less precise, even though the main argument remains understandable. Build a bank of natural collocations for this topic, and check whether each verb fits its object—for example, parents can encourage children to participate, while children can learn independently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although… but I believe” and clauses introduced by “because,” “who,” and “that.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors occur across the essay and can occasionally make sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “Some people thinks,” “children who are encourage,” “This essay will discusses,” and “group learning have.” There are also problems with sentence construction and punctuation, such as the opening “Although” clause being joined to “but,” and the long sentence beginning “Moreover, students playing…” lacking a clear grammatical structure. Practise subject–verb agreement, passive forms, and complete clause construction, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
