Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about whether guardians should motivate to their kids to take part in group activities during their leisure time, or should focus on themselvess on their own way. This essay will explore both the views and along with my opinion before conducting.
To begin with, there are numerous advantages of taking part in group activities. The key one, it encourages children to stay motivate and learn cooperation from group friends. If children are encouraged by their parents to take part in group activities, it will help them to learn such skills such as, teamwork, time managment, and cooperation during match sessions. Apart from that, some pupils feel hesitant and cannot easily open up to anyone; joining a group can help them to remain motivated during tough situations.
On the other hand, having a wide group can be beneficial for children. But staying alone can also build self-confidence in children. In particular, most of the individuals prefer to stay alone without any kind of group, which can build their confidence, and they will be able to make more difficult decisions by themselves. Either they do not need to depend on others to make a decision or can enjoy their own company without the wrong judgment. For example, if a person is more likely to prefer learn by their own mistakes, are more capable to achieve succeed and fortune.
In conclusion, the merits of taking part in group activities are more logical than learning on their own. I conclude that both ways are equally vital for children to learn something new.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views by discussing group activities and the benefits of spending time alone, and you give a concluding opinion. The group-activity paragraph offers relevant points about teamwork and support in difficult situations. However, your position is not fully clear: you say group activities are “more logical” in the conclusion, then state that “both ways are equally vital.” This makes it difficult to identify your final view. Some ideas also need clearer explanation, particularly how learning from mistakes leads to success. Develop each main point with a specific example and make your opinion consistent from the introduction through to the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some linking phrases do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For example, “On the other hand, having a wide group can be beneficial” repeats the previous view before turning to independence. The final two sentences also present conflicting positions. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and ensure that pronouns and references make it clear who or what you mean.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “teamwork,” “cooperation,” “self-confidence,” and “depend on others.” There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as children feeling hesitant or making decisions independently. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems sometimes make the meaning awkward or unclear. Examples include “stay motivate,” “group friends,” “wrong judgment,” and “achieve succeed and fortune.” Spelling errors such as “managment” and “themselvess” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of natural phrases for discussing children’s development, and check word forms and spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If children are encouraged by their parents … it will help them” and a sentence beginning “Either they do not need to depend on others.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “For example, if a person is more likely to prefer learn by their own mistakes, are more capable…” lacks a clear grammatical subject and uses an incorrect verb pattern. The opening sentence also has an incomplete construction around “should motivate to their kids.” Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and correct verb forms, then proofread each sentence for agreement and punctuation.
