Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are different opions on how children should do on free time. Some say participate in any group activities are the right way. Others says children need to have a time to be with themself. In my opinion, I think parents should support both and doing a great time management for these.

First, group activities creates many benefit such as improve social skills, being team work and lastly learn new things. Children who join group activities have a chance to co-operate with various backgound kids. This helps them learn how to adjust themself to each other. As a result, social skill bulits up. A bold charector of being a group is team work. Individual will have their own duty likes leader, follower or connector. These roles teach them about team work. Lastly, they will learn the activities skill. To be illustrated, camping make kids know how to make a tent.

Second, children should spend time with themself. There are two pro as self considering and developing spacific skill. Every children should have a self private time to revise themself. The silent may assist them to revise their experiance from out side. Other benefit is the should have time to deep learning their interest.

In conclusion, I think parents should support both skills with a balance time ration. By this, parents may devolpe quality children who can work with others and know to spend quality time with their own,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear overall opinion that parents should support both, which meets the main task requirements. The group-activity paragraph includes relevant benefits—social skills, teamwork and learning practical skills—and the camping example helps illustrate one point. However, the discussion of independent time is much less developed: “self considering” and learning an interest are mentioned, but not explained with a concrete example or clear consequences. Your conclusion repeats your position rather than extending it. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop the ideas. Explain both sides more evenly and show how parents could balance them in practice.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Second,” and “In conclusion” make the overall progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “A bold charector of being a group is team work” does not clearly link the previous point about social skills to the next explanation. The second body paragraph moves quickly from private reflection to developing an interest without showing how these ideas relate. Use clearer topic sentences and linking explanations, and make references such as “these” and “By this” more specific so readers can follow the argument without having to infer the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “co-operate,” “social skills,” “team work,” and “leader, follower or connector.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the benefits of group activities and independent time. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or unclear expressions make parts of the argument difficult to understand: “self considering,” “deep learning their interest,” and “a balance time ration.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “opions,” “backgound,” and “experiance.” Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe children as “reflecting on their experiences” and say they can “develop an individual interest” during time alone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “Children who join group activities have a chance to…” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make the intended meaning unclear. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “group activities creates” and “Others says,” and the incorrect construction “Some say participate… are the right way.” Other sentences have faulty forms, such as “Every children should have a self private time” and “the should have time to deep learning.” Work on agreement, plural forms, verb patterns and sentence construction. Building accurate short sentences first, then combining related ideas with clauses, will improve clarity and control.
