Subject - Regarding the complain about the reception area
Dear Sir/ Madam
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to suggest about some improvements to our reception area as every visitors said that when we visit here no one is available in the reception area. I also sometime see that our receptionist is very careless about there job. Also, her behavior is not well professional. It impacts on our companies reputation.
In addition, the area of front section is most vital in firms. Everyone come in reception and ask all enquiry about the company. If our receptionist area could not improved we have faced several problems and it directly affects our profession.
Moreover, the area should be fully attractive. There are include some fresh plants, fully Wi-Fi, which usually impact on customers. I hope you will take serious this problem and fulfill all needs which they needed for this area.
I believe that you will understand my point.
Thank you for your cooperation
Yours sincerely,
Komalpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing complaints, explaining the importance of the reception area, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the suggestions for improvement (plants, Wi-Fi) are brief and could be expanded to explain how they would specifically address the complaints mentioned. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a manager, though the expression of ideas is occasionally hindered by grammatical inaccuracies. Overall, the response covers the requirements of the task sufficiently to meet the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'Also', 'In addition', 'Moreover'). Some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'If our receptionist area could not improved we have faced several problems', which disrupts the flow of the argument. While the overall structure is coherent, the limited range of linking words and occasional lapses in referencing keep this at a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of word-choice errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'every visitors said', 'careless about there job', and 'the area of front section'. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'receptionist' and 'reputation', but the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring correct word forms (e.g., 'professional' instead of 'well professional').
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Everyone come', 'There are include'), incorrect verb forms ('could not improved'), and misuse of pronouns ('there job' instead of 'their'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction is often clunky. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. The student should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and basic verb tense consistency.
