Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers all three bullet points: describing complaints, explaining the importance of the area, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited and repetitive. For instance, the importance of the reception area is mentioned twice using similar phrasing. The suggestion to 'hire beautiful women' is inappropriate in a professional context and does not address the functional needs of a reception area. To improve, you should provide more professional, detailed suggestions, such as improving lighting, seating ergonomics, or digital check-in systems, and ensure the tone remains formal and business-appropriate throughout the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks a clear structure. It is written as a single block of text rather than using paragraphs to separate the different points requested in the prompt. There is a lack of cohesive devices; sentences are often linked by repetitive use of 'and' or 'also', which makes the flow feel mechanical and disjointed. To reach a higher band, you must use paragraphing to organize your ideas—one paragraph for the complaints, one for the importance, and one for your suggestions—and utilize a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition'.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Words like 'old', 'important', and 'reception area' are used frequently. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the sofa set are very old' (should be 'is') and 'the name of company is made 3D model'. The vocabulary lacks the precision required for a professional business letter. To improve, focus on learning business-related collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words. Using more sophisticated adjectives and professional terminology would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'visitors arrives', 'sofa set are'), article usage (e.g., 'the reception area is most important place'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
