Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all three bullet points: describing complaints, explaining the importance of the area, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited, and the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement. The explanation of why the reception is important is somewhat unclear and lacks professional depth. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific details or examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is divided into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited, making the flow feel somewhat mechanical. For example, the transition between the complaints and the importance of the area is abrupt. Using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') would help create a smoother progression of ideas. The overall organization is logical, but the lack of cohesive variety keeps this in the lower band range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'very small', 'very essential', and 'easy'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'online works' instead of 'online services' and 'assess' instead of 'access'. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, professional vocabulary suitable for a workplace context. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning common collocations will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('There are lot of complaints are coming') and tense inconsistencies ('They also complaint'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the closing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect pluralization. Increasing the variety of sentence structures will also help improve your score.
