Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir, the reception area is one of the most important sector of a company. As the visitors first visit this area for different purposes such as guidence purposes like where the staff office is? How to meet some one and also for other company work. So it also attract the focus of the visitors as they have to visit receptionist first.
So it is very important to improve the recepetion as it is the main point of focus of the visitors. There are some complains about our reception area to which one is explain. A customer complaint about the space and some other complaint about the staff.
So imy opinion we should take it serous and improve the sitting area for interviwers and also deal them kindly. Hier two or three applicants for receptionist so that the customers get their required answers immidiately.
So in conclusion it will help the people to save their time and also increase company reputation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the complaints, explaining the importance of the reception area, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the complaints is vague, mentioning only 'space' and 'staff' without specific details. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with more concrete examples or explanations. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a manager, although the structure could be more formal to better suit the professional context of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the importance of the area to the problems and finally to the solutions. Paragraphing is present, though the transitions between ideas are sometimes abrupt. You use basic cohesive devices like 'So' and 'In conclusion', but the range is limited. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases such as 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', or 'In light of these issues' to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly. The overall arrangement is clear, but the flow could be improved with more sophisticated cohesive links.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'guidence', 'recepetion', 'complains', 'interviwers', and 'immidiately'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'sector of a company' instead of 'part of a company' or 'deal them kindly' instead of 'treat them kindly'. To achieve a higher score, focus on improving your spelling accuracy and expanding your range of vocabulary to include more precise, professional terms related to business and customer service.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'one of the most important sector' (should be 'sectors'), 'where the staff office is?' (incorrect question structure in a statement), and 'to which one is explain' (incorrect grammar). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and question marks. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall quality of the writing. Focus on subject-verb agreement and sentence structure.
