Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing complaints, explaining the importance of the reception area, and suggesting improvements. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, the complaints about staff communication and seating are mentioned but not elaborated upon in a professional manner. The explanation of why the area is important is somewhat unclear due to awkward phrasing ('front desk is not good for look like people'). While the response covers the requirements, the lack of depth and the informal, sometimes confusing tone prevent it from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with clear, logical sentences that directly address the manager.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'these technologies can keep the entertainment and satisfied with their waiting', where the connection between the technology and the visitor's experience is not logically linked. The overall structure is functional, but the flow between sentences needs to be smoother to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'provide complete facts' instead of 'provide accurate information' and 'line over there' instead of 'queue' or 'wait'. The phrase 'not good for look like' is non-standard and impedes clarity. While the meaning is generally understandable, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of professional or business-appropriate terminology. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to office environments and formal correspondence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder readability. There are issues with article usage ('the front desk'), subject-verb agreement ('they have a enough knowledge'), and sentence structure ('they return back when they have watch the rush'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the writer attempts some complex structures, they are often faulty. The majority of the sentences are simple, and the persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
