Dear mr brown,

I am writing this letter to give some ideas to improve reception.

As we received complaints about the sitting area around reception, it's only for 2 people. And there is not any professional, who do know well even our company's prosuct as well as sometimes, receptionist give appointment to visitors, when they reach according to their appointment, there will be no one take them on time, which waste their time,

Reception is the primery part of every workplace. people judge any company by the sevice, which they have been offered by receptionist.

We can build more sitting area by right side of reception, as there is a lot of space. Moreover, we should give training to receptionist in order to enhance our company's goodwill. In training curiculam product of our company along will their ingredient, benifits and drawbacks.

I hope these change can attract more saticfied visitors to our workplace.

Your faithfully,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all three bullet points required by the task. You successfully describe the complaints regarding the seating and the receptionist's knowledge, explain the importance of the reception area, and provide actionable suggestions for improvement. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of why the reception is important could be more nuanced to fully meet the criteria for a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed clearly and the purpose of the letter is evident throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'In addition' (though 'Moreover' was used effectively). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes hindered by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as the run-on sentence in the first paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'prosuct' (product), 'primery' (primary), 'sevice' (service), 'curiculam' (curriculum), 'benifits' (benefits), and 'saticfied' (satisfied). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. While you attempt to use professional terminology like 'goodwill' and 'ingredients', the overall lexical control is limited. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and using more precise collocations to convey your ideas more professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'receptionist give appointment'), missing articles (e.g., 'improve reception'), and punctuation errors, such as the comma splice in the first paragraph. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the errors occasionally make the text slightly difficult to read. To reach a higher band, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and improving punctuation to avoid run-on sentences.
