Dear Mr. John,

I am writing this letter to suggest how the reception area can be improved. Guest often complaint about the sitting area with not fully functional wifi that creates bad experience for them, the dim lights and bad vantilation are also the problem reported by the visitors.

The area holds an essential role to the visitor about the first impression of our company. whenever someone visit there, it not give only give them a bad experience as well as ruined their mood, which ultimately affects the company's image.

I would like to suggest you to make changes in that area such as bright light, comfortable sofa, plants, antiques to enhance the appearance and make it approachable to visitors. Adding refreshments and helpful staff to assist the guests can drastically improve the company's reputation. I hope you will consider these suggestions and I am looking forward to the changes you are going to bring.

Your's faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the complaints, explaining the importance of the reception area, and suggesting improvements. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention 'bad ventilation' and 'dim lights', these points could be expanded with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirement for a well-developed response. The letter is clear and the purpose is established immediately, which helps in achieving the task requirements effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into three distinct paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'whenever', 'which', and 'I would like to', which help the flow of information. However, the transition between ideas could be smoother. For example, the second paragraph contains some awkward phrasing ('it not give only give them'), which disrupts the logical progression. Using a wider variety of linking words or phrases would help to improve the overall cohesion of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'essential role', 'first impression', and 'drastically improve'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Guest often complaint' (should be 'Guests often complain') and 'not fully functional wifi'. Additionally, 'vantilation' is misspelled. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Guest often complaint'), incorrect verb forms ('it not give only give them'), and punctuation errors in the closing ('Your's faithfully'). While the meaning remains clear, these errors are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed with correct auxiliary verbs and tense consistency.
