Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: describing complaints, explaining the importance of the reception, and suggesting improvements. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that the area is 'untidy' and 'busy', providing a specific example of a complaint would have strengthened the response. Similarly, your suggestions are practical but could be expanded with more detail on how to implement them. Overall, the tone is appropriate for a letter to a manager, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout the text.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the task. There is a clear progression of ideas from the problem to the importance and finally to the solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. You rely heavily on 'where' and 'because' to link ideas, which makes the flow feel a bit stilted. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as in the phrase 'where they no need to stand up', which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and transition phrases would help the text flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, covering topics like 'reception area', 'documentation', and 'appropriate action'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'find many difficulty to arrange the que' (should be 'difficulty queuing') and 'sign board are not clearly indicated' (should be 'clearly marked'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that word forms (e.g., 'indicate' vs 'indicated') are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Sign board are', 'Sofa... are'), missing articles ('the' reception), and incorrect verb forms ('where they no need to stand up'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, pay closer attention to pluralization and verb tense consistency. Attempting more complex sentence structures is good, but ensure that the grammatical rules within those structures are applied accurately to avoid frequent minor errors.
