Dear manager,
I am writing to suggest some improvements to the reception area following servel complain.
Recently, a number of visitor have complained that the reception area is often crowded. They have also mentioned that there are not enough chairs, and waiting time is too long. In addation, the reception desk can be difficul to find because there are no clear signs directing visitors.
The reception area is particularly important because it is the frist place that visitors see when they arrive at our comany. A clean, comfortable and well maintained reception can be positive frist impression.
i would therfore suggest adding more comfortable chairs and keeping the area clean thoughout the day. we could also install clear signs to help visitors find the desk. Finally, havind an additional receptionist during busy periods could reduce waiting time.
i hope you will consider these suggestion. i am definetly sure this changes will helps to postive impact in our company.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The candidate successfully covers all parts of the prompt. First, they describe the complaints received regarding the reception area, such as overcrowding, insufficient seating, long waiting times, and poor signage. Second, they explain the importance of the reception area, noting that it creates the initial impression for visitors arriving at the company. Finally, they provide practical suggestions for improvement, including adding more comfortable chairs, maintaining cleanliness, installing clear signs, and hiring an additional receptionist during peak hours. The tone is appropriately semi-formal for a workplace letter, and the purpose is clear from the beginning. Although there are some minor mechanical errors in vocabulary and grammar, the core requirements of the task are fully addressed, warranting a solid band 7.0 score for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter exhibits a clear overall logical organization and progression. Ideas are grouped reasonably into paragraphs that reflect the bullet points of the prompt, moving from the complaints and importance to the suggestions and concluding remarks. The candidate uses basic cohesive devices appropriately, such as 'Recently', 'In addition', and 'Finally'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the letter, and the salutation and sign-off are included, although the opening 'Dear manager' is a bit overly direct. Referencing throughout the text is mostly clear. While the paragraphing and linking devices function adequately to guide the reader through the letter, the occasional awkward transition keeps this criterion at a band 6.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The candidate demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common business and workplace-related terms such as 'reception area', 'waiting time', and 'additional receptionist'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-form errors that detract from precision, including 'servel' instead of 'several', 'complain' instead of 'complaints', 'visitor' instead of 'visitors', 'addation' instead of 'addition', 'difficul' instead of 'difficult', 'frist' instead of 'first', 'comany' instead of 'company', and 'havind' instead of 'having'. These errors indicate a lack of careful proofreading rather than a complete absence of lexical control, but they do prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. Overall, the vocabulary is minimally sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The candidate attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as using subordinate clauses ('because there are no clear signs directing visitors' and 'that visitors see when they arrive'). There are, however, several grammatical and punctuation errors present. For instance, capitalization is missing at the start of sentences ('i would therfore suggest...', 'i hope...', 'i am definetly sure...'), and there are spelling/morphological slips in verb tenses and agreement, such as 'this changes will helps to postive impact'. Punctuation around commas is occasionally unstable. Despite these errors, meaning is rarely impeded, and the communicative intent remains clear throughout the response. The grammatical control aligns well with the band 6 descriptors.
