Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main complaints: the reception space is restrictive, there are only two receptionists, visitors wait a long time, and some leave. You also give relevant suggestions to enlarge the area and hire two more employees. However, the task is only partly addressed: you do not explain why reception is important to the company, and the suggestions receive little supporting detail. The opening and subject line also do not clearly establish a suitable letter to your manager, while “Resolved complain” suggests the issue has already been fixed. The response is 147 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Add a clear explanation of reception’s role in creating visitors’ first impression and develop the proposed changes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable sequence: it describes the situation and complaints, then makes recommendations and closes politely. This gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, the ideas are crowded into one main paragraph, and links such as “Meanwhile” and “So” do not always show the relationship between points clearly. The transition from the complaints to the recommendations could be more deliberate, and the importance of reception needs its own place in the progression. Some punctuation and spacing also make the flow harder to follow, for example “visiting every moments. We” and “request.Thank you.” Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its importance, and the proposed improvements, with clear linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “reception area,” “visitors,” “long waiting,” and “hiring,” so the basic message can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader pause. Examples include “Resolved complain,” “restrictive” for the space, “deal the visitors,” and “Nobody will be mishandled.” Spelling errors such as “recepyion,” “challanges,” and “employies” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise workplace expressions and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe the area as “too small,” say staff “assist visitors,” and explain that extra staff would “reduce waiting times.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The letter includes a few attempts to connect ideas, such as “I am hoping for your kind response, and you may like my suggestion,” but most sentences follow simple patterns, so the range is limited. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to process. For example, “I have been employed this esteemed company since six months” has an incorrect preposition and time expression, while “the reception area are” has subject–verb disagreement. “A lot of visitors are become angery” also uses an incorrect verb form. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention as well. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add controlled clauses such as “Because visitors wait for a long time, some leave before being helped.”
