Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the rise of shopping malls is a positive development. You provide relevant reasons, such as convenience and economic benefits, and include a specific example (VR mall in Surat). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The counter-argument regarding local shops is mentioned but not fully explored or balanced against your main position. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported with more depth and that the negative impact on local shops is addressed with more nuance to show a more comprehensive understanding of the issue.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand', to signal transitions. However, some of the linking is mechanical, and there are instances where sentences are fragmented or lack smooth flow, such as 'Which contain famous international clothe shops'. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that sentences are connected more naturally would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'international brands', 'employment', and 'economy'. However, there are several spelling errors ('nesecerry', 'clothe' instead of 'clothing') and some awkward collocations ('love to trend', 'get better image'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct word forms, such as using 'clothing' as a noun rather than 'clothe'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('shopping mall provide', 'this development have'), article usage, and sentence fragments ('Which contain famous international clothe shops'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb.
