Student answer (Band 6.0)
Its becoming increasingly common for folks to visit huge malls and Shopping centres to shop and its forced to small business shut down from many years. In my opinion, this is largely positive development because customers can buy everything under one shed and Malls provide various facilities and huge spaces where people can spend their quality of time.
One positive aspect is that individuals saves their time and energy when they go to huge shopping malls. This is because they can purchase their needy things under one roof and also they get various discount offers at these places .people can purchase branded clothes ,Utensils at cheaper prices. For Example, A survey was conducted by the university of London in the year 2011 states that 97.8 percent people worldwide prefer malls. Thus its lead to employment opportunities for various job seekers as well.
Another prominent point is that huge malls provide numerous facilities to customers such as parking, washrooms, Restaurants and entertainment. Individuals who have hectic schedule can enjoy and spend their quality of time with their family members at these places when they go for shopping. As a result of this it strengthen the bonds between family members.
To conclude, i would like to assert that The invention of shopping malls day by day helps to folks to save their precious time and get various discounted offers at one place as well as it helps to decrease the unemployment between youngsters. However, its also a main reason for local shopkeepers to shut down their business and bear loss.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the trend is positive. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention convenience and employment, the arguments are supported by questionable evidence, such as the specific statistic about the University of London, which lacks credibility and depth. The conclusion acknowledges the negative impact on local shops, but this is done as an afterthought rather than being integrated into a balanced discussion. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasoning and ensure that your examples are realistic and logically connected to your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'One positive aspect', 'Another prominent point', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Thus its lead to employment opportunities'. The logical progression is generally maintained, but the connection between the closure of local shops and the benefits of malls could be more smoothly integrated to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'employment opportunities', 'discount offers', and 'hectic schedule'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'under one shed' (instead of 'under one roof') and 'needy things' (instead of 'necessities' or 'essential items'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple, repetitive structures. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('its lead to', 'individuals saves'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. For example, 'its forced to small business shut down' is grammatically incorrect and impedes clarity. While you attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty. To achieve a higher score, you need to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses, pluralization, and the correct use of pronouns like 'it's' versus 'its'.
