Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You successfully reminded the recipient of the meeting, identified the desired role, and explained your suitability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal business letter, although the opening 'Dear Sir' is a bit generic given you met the person. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, though the development of your suitability could be slightly more detailed to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is fully addressed, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'As I told you' and 'If you need more information' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of cohesive devices could be more varied to improve the natural progression of the text. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the body, and the closing, which helps the reader follow your argument easily.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'co-passenger', 'conversation', and 'relevant experience'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'vary' instead of 'very', 'Sinor' instead of 'Senior', 'samiler' instead of 'similar', and 'raferance' instead of 'reference'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede the overall meaning of the letter. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise professional terminology to enhance the formal tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'which we have discuss' (should be 'discussed'), 'on last week flight' (should be 'on last week's flight'), and 'go from India' (should be 'going from India'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb tenses. While these errors do not prevent communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of the writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve your score.
