Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly reminded the recipient of the meeting context, identified the specific role you are interested in, and provided relevant reasons for your suitability, such as your experience at Shannex and your language skills. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter. To reach a higher band, ensure that you provide slightly more detail regarding your qualifications to fully develop your ideas, as some points feel a bit brief. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the introduction to the specific request and finally to your qualifications. Paragraphing is used, though the structure could be improved by separating the introduction, the body (experience/suitability), and the closing more distinctly. You use some cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Moreover', but there is a slight reliance on simple sentence structures that makes the flow feel a bit mechanical at times. Improving the use of linking words to connect your sentences more fluidly would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'enquire', 'vacancy', and 'qualifications'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'in restaurant field' (should be 'in the restaurant industry') and 'you share me website' (should be 'you shared the website with me'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated professional terminology would help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I met you in last month' (remove 'in'), 'there are one vacancy is open' (should be 'there is a vacancy'), and 'you are looking staff' (should be 'looking for staff'). Additionally, there are some missing articles and preposition errors. While these errors are frequent, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles in professional correspondence.
