Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You successfully reminded the recipient of the meeting context, identified the desired role (receptionist), and provided reasons for your suitability. The tone is generally appropriate for a business-related letter, although the opening and closing need more formal conventions. To improve, ensure that the connection between your skills and the specific job requirements is more clearly articulated. For example, instead of saying you have 'great demand on communication skills,' you could explain how your previous experience or personality traits make you an asset to a restaurant environment. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Therefore' and 'As you recommend,' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The transition between the meeting details and the job application could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'that time,' 'there') is precise so the reader can easily follow the narrative of your previous encounter and your current intentions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'eligible,' 'convenient,' and 'commute.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'great demand on communication skills' (should be 'strong communication skills') and 'consideradation' (spelling error). Additionally, some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'I would interested in.' To improve, focus on learning common collocations used in professional correspondence and proofread carefully to avoid basic spelling mistakes. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise professional terminology would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a good start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses ('If you remembered,' 'you was going to'), articles, and punctuation. For instance, 'I am look forward your response' is grammatically incorrect and should be 'I look forward to your response.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the letter. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve your accuracy.
