IELTS Writing Task 1 question

During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.

Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter

• remind him when and where you met
• tell him what kind of job you are interested in
• say why you think you would be suitable for the job

Dear Sir,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to express my interest on your job recommendation during our conversation during the flight.

I hope you have remembered that we both travelled on same flight from Vancouver to Toronto on June 20, 2026. I was sitting next to you on window seat and we had great conversation about current economical issues and reasons behind it.

I remembered that you told me, You are running business in food chain and offered me a job. I know on that time, I denied because I was already working in Pizza store. But unfortunately, I got suspended from my previous work place as I was off from work for a week and they found my replacement. Now, I am looking for new job.

I feel, I will be suitable to work in restaurant as I already have some experience in pizza store where I was working as cashier and also sometime provides help in kitchen, when we were really busy. I have experience in customer facing roles also. I hope you will consider my application.
