Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly identified the context of the meeting (London to Delhi flight), specified the desired role (receptionist), and provided a logical justification for your suitability by highlighting your two years of experience and communication skills. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific details about your professional achievements or elaborate further on why your skills are a perfect fit for the restaurant's specific needs, which would demonstrate a more thorough development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the introduction to the purpose of the letter and finally to your qualifications. Paragraphing is used, though the structure could be improved by separating the introduction, the body, and the closing more distinctly. While you use some cohesive devices like 'After meeting you' and 'along with', the flow between sentences is occasionally a bit mechanical. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would improve the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vacancies', 'position', and 'qualifications' correctly. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'made a research' (should be 'conducted research') and 'from your side' (which is slightly informal). To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but it lacks the sophistication and flexibility required for the higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
Your writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('during plane journey' should be 'during the plane journey') and punctuation issues, particularly with run-on sentences in the first paragraph. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy. You should also aim to vary your sentence length and structure to demonstrate greater control over complex grammar.
