Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You successfully reminded the recipient of the meeting context, identified the desired role, and provided reasons for your suitability. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat list-like and lacks the professional depth expected in a formal letter. For example, simply listing 'punctual, quick learner, organization' is less effective than integrating these traits into full, descriptive sentences. To reach a higher band, focus on expanding your points to demonstrate how your skills would specifically benefit the restaurant owner's business, rather than just stating them as a list of attributes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the introduction to the specific request and then to your qualifications. Paragraphing is present, though the body paragraph is quite dense and would benefit from being split to separate your experience from your technical skills. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Also', but the flow is occasionally interrupted by short, choppy sentences. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences are connected more fluidly to create a more professional and cohesive tone throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'management level role' and 'strong candidate'. However, there are some inaccuracies and awkward phrasing, such as 'handled almost every department their' (should be 'there') and 'managing google sheet'. Additionally, your list of skills ('organization, problem solving, leadership') lacks the necessary grammatical form to fit naturally into the sentence structure. To improve, focus on using more precise professional terminology and ensure that your word choices are grammatically consistent with the surrounding text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'which likely to be' (missing 'is'), 'make me' (should be 'makes'), and 'I can manage troubleshoot problem' (should be 'I can troubleshoot problems'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the lack of capitalization for 'google sheet' and 'excel'. To reach a higher band, you need to proofread for subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing auxiliary verbs or prepositions.
