Dear Sir
Myself Shreyansh Mishra, Hope you remember me we met in Flight from Halifax to Calgary where you told me about your restaurants chains in Canada. As advised by you i am writing this letter to ask for any job positions available in your restaurants.
Talking about my past experience I had worked as a head cook in a reputed restaurant for almost 4 years. Now i am looking something same or related to this. I am well aware of all the job duties that are carried out in a food outlets. Moreover i completed my diploma in hotel management in 2022 which can be a great asset to your organisation . Main reason to switch my job is looking for some better oppurtunities.
I make assure that you will not be disappointed with my work and i am able to provide reference from my current workplace. I am attaching my resume as well so you will be more aware of my job duties and responsibilities.
Yours faithfully
Shreyansh Mishra

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly identify the context of the meeting, specify your interest in a culinary role, and provide relevant reasons for your suitability, such as your four years of experience and your diploma in hotel management. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal business letter, although the opening 'Myself Shreyansh Mishra' is slightly informal and non-standard. To improve, ensure that the purpose of the letter is stated more professionally in the opening sentence. Overall, the task requirements are fully met with clear, relevant ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'As advised by you' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by repetitive sentence structures and minor punctuation errors. For instance, the transition between your experience and your motivation for switching jobs could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns to improve the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'reputed restaurant', 'asset', and 'responsibilities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'I make assure' (should be 'I can assure you') and 'looking something same' (should be 'looking for something similar'). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'oppurtunities'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise professional terminology and ensure that your word choices are grammatically sound within the context of the sentence. Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the precision of your writing. Issues include missing articles ('in Flight', 'in a food outlets'), incorrect verb forms ('I had worked' instead of 'I have worked'), and capitalization errors (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and consistent capitalization. Proofreading for these basic mechanical errors will significantly enhance the professional quality of your writing.
