Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: you reminded the recipient of the meeting, specified the desired role, and explained your suitability. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention your experience at 'Darshan inn', the explanation of your suitability could be more professional and detailed to better persuade a potential employer. The tone is generally appropriate for a business letter, though it occasionally slips into informal phrasing. To improve, ensure that your reasons for being suitable are linked more clearly to the specific requirements of a restaurant environment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your message. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'I am just reached in canada, and I thought to contact you' is slightly disjointed. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the abrupt shift between discussing the meeting and your qualifications. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') would help create a smoother flow between your ideas and enhance the overall structure of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your intentions clearly. You use some relevant industry-specific terms like 'food handler certificate' and 'hotel management course'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'kicthen' instead of 'kitchen', 'cleaness' instead of 'cleanliness', and 'refernce' instead of 'reference'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise professional terminology and ensuring accurate spelling of common workplace vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'I am just reached' instead of 'I have just arrived') and article usage (e.g., 'looking for the chef's job'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition errors, such as 'seat besides each other' instead of 'sat beside each other', also occur. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic tense accuracy and sentence construction will significantly improve your writing.
